"We hired this company for a pre-purchase home inspection and were told in the report that there were no significant issues. Shortly after moving in, we began experiencing ongoing water leaks. A later warranty inspection confirmed construction and code-related deficiencies that were not identified in the original inspection. Response to the message below: While I understand that a home inspection is primarily a visual inspection, that does not explain what happened in our case. Your inspector failed to identify one of the most obvious visible defects on the property: the complete lack of flashing at the base of the stucco. This defect was fully visible at the time of the inspection. It was not covered by snow, concealed, or otherwise obstructed. If your company stands behind its reputation for being trustworthy and reliable, then you should acknowledge that this was an error in your inspection. Your representative visited our home in the spring of 2026 and brought two independent stucco specialists. Both specialists confirmed that the stucco had this obvious defect—one that should have been identified and documented during the original home inspection. Instead of acknowledging this mistake, your response attempts to minimize or explain it away. That is neither professional nor consistent with the standards your company claims to uphold. To date, we have not even received an apology for the consequences we have experienced as a result of this deficient inspection. Home inspections play a critical role in a purchaser's decision to buy a property. Buyers rely on inspectors to identify visible defects that could materially affect that decision. In our case, the failure to report this obvious deficiency contributed to a situation that has had significant negative consequences for us. While there may be other contributing factors, your company's failure to identify and report a plainly visible defect is one of them, and your company bears responsibility for that failure."

When Bryan followed up with our inquiry for a home inspection, we immediately knew that we'd be in good hands if we chose Pillar to Post.
